Poppycock!

Hello,
I was listening to NPR last night and heard a report on the 17 year old soccer player that assaulted a referee at his soccer match. The referee was taken to a hospital and later died as a result.

Here is a link to the article if you are unfamiliar with the story

Apparently they are going to charge him with homicide by assault. Homicide by assault is considered a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison. Only five years in prison, and that is if he is tried as an adult! If he is tried and convicted as a minor he could be facing less time than even five years. Which seems completely ludicrous to me. Even though it may not have been his intention to kill he is still responsible for the death of that man. Getting five years of imprisonment does not sound like enough to me. In my opinion if I was to assault someone, that means I had intentions of harming them. I might not have intended death, but I would have surely intended harm. If I had done such a thing and the result was the death of another I could not imagine only being charged with five years imprisonment and a fine...

Onto a lighter subject. I am going to whole foods today! Which brings about feelings that only this  video could describe.

I cannot wait for cashew butter, fresh cruelty free meat, organic produce, and oh so much more!

Here are some photos of the lovely store.

I hope you are having as wonderful of a day as I am about to! Au revoir.

Pondering, wandering, and squandering away

No, I have not had any caffeinated beverages. My overly lyrical title of this post is sadly what I am doing as of late. You may decide whether or not I have good reason for doing so yourself. I was going to go into an overly dramatic story of what happened. But long story short I've broken my scaphoid (wrist) and my radial head (elbow) in my left arm. I also have tissue damage (whatever that means) in my right wrist. Basically making me an invalid, for the time being. So yes, I'm pondering. Pondering time past, present, and future. Wandering, albeit not far. (I'm afraid I have turned into a bit of a recluse.) Last but not least I have been squandering away my time. There is not much I can do with my very limited use of my arms. You would probably find it quite humorous to know how long it took me to write this. In a way all this time away from work is doing me good. It has given me time to think through my options. Like I said, lots of pondering. Before I go anymore "there is a silver lining in every cloud" on you, I will say this is indeed not quite the happiest time off I have ever had. On the subject of clouds however coincidental, it is indeed pouring down rain at the moment. That doesn't bother me though, I love the rain.

So au revoir for the time being. I'm off to watch this marvelous downpour before the storm passes.
